Description:

Under administrative direction of the Director of the School, the Accounting Associate is responsible for performing finance and coordination of operations for the School of Theatre and Music (School) including financial accounting and budgeting activities, specialized expense and income analysis, and preparation of supporting documentation and financial management reports; as well as managing insurance, contracts, vendor agreements and other operational functions of the School.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Finance: Assist the Director with development of annual budget for the School. Monitor STM expenditures, cash management, and cost projections to ensure that projects and operations are within established budgets; provide regular reports to those managing budget areas within the School.
Provide analysis of operating ledger and general ledger transactions of all types (such as billing, inventory, purchasing, payables, accounts receivable, human resources, payroll, publications, telecom and facilities management), verify accuracy and perform reconciliation. Identify, investigate, and resolve incorrect transactions of all types to make adjustments as needed and ensure that proper documentation exists for all transactions Act as a charge code reviewer and ensure that transaction documents are processed correctly and in a timely manner in Banner, Ibuy, and P-Card Systems.
Manage university P-Card unit program and daily reconciliation of transactions to expense accounts and generates P-Card reports. Responsible for budgeting aspects of grant management for School. Produce reports to the Director and/or grantees with expenditures and anticipated expenses. Prepare financial statement and reports i.e. reports to the grant funders. Update of expense, revenue, and prepare internal recharge monthly reports for each of the cost centers using billing and general ledger. Payroll expenses and obligations reconciled to internal labor and time keeping records.
