GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Onsite in Chicago, IL Monday - Friday (8:00am-4:00pm)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, including packing boxes, building pallets, maintaining the warehouse facility, loading trucks, and managing inventory. This role requires strong logistical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Packing and Shipping: Ensure accurate packing of orders, including verifying items, packaging materials, and labeling according to shipping guidelines and requirements.
Receiving: Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and inspect for damages or discrepancies. Organize and distribute received goods to appropriate departments or storage areas.
Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Implement and uphold inventory control measures to ensure efficient space utilization and easy accessibility of goods.
Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and distribution of goods. Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and perform regular cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies. Coordinate with the production team to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize shortages.
Pallet Building: Assemble and secure pallets for outgoing shipments, ensuring stability and adherence to shipping protocols.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, inventory levels, and warehouse transactions using inventory control software.
Quality Assurance: Conduct quality inspections on incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Purchasing: Source and purchase necessary supplies and materials for warehouse operations, ensuring optimal inventory levels and cost-effectiveness.
Local Deliveries: Pickup and deliver materials as needed from local suppliers and vendors.
Warehouse Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, packaging equipment, and pallet jacks. Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
Supervision: Schedule and oversee warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work.
Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
Must have the ability/stamina to work 45-50+ hours a week.
Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate, and key in data.
Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
Ability to stand/walk for 9-10 hours per day and sit for 1-2 hours per day.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues.
Must be able to communicate heavily through telephone, e-mail and in-person communications.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORS
Must represent The Potbelly Way.
Self-starter who can work well with others as well as independently.
Must be extremely neat and organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred.
