Job Summary/General Purpose of Job
Prepares, processes and maintains accounting records for the Association which may include general accounting, costing, or budget data. Reviews and reconciles accounts to insure accurate financial reports. Examines and interprets accounting records for the purpose of giving advice or preparing statements.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
Prepare and records assigned journal entries according to internal standards, reconciles financial data, generates and distributes financial reports.
Performs monthly account reconciliations to identify and correct any errors and account imbalances, including cash account reconciliations, prepaids reconciliations, and receivable reconciliations.
Makes adjustments to financial transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP and ABA policies.
Assists other departments by interpretating and responding to questions re the monthly reports.
Assist in the preparation and completion of financial statement audits.
Processes Affiliates bi-weekly paychecks by collecting and processing their payroll data.
Confirms calculations of federal and state taxable wages each pay period and ensures other deductions are updated and maintained in relevant systems.
Distributes of bi-weekly earnings statements and bi-weekly reports to ABA employees and its Affiliates and reconciles and audits Affiliate W-2 previews on a monthly basis; assists in annual year-end W-2 process
Completes special projects as assigned and performs other related duties, as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university (or equivalent experience).
Understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret financial data.
Ability to work with professional people, interpret and communicate financial data for them and provide constructive guidance.
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, ERP or financial reporting systems.
Physical Requirements
Typical office work environment.
Extent of Travel Required in the Job
Travel is not required for this position.
