Job Summary:
The Senior Program Coordinator (SPC) coordinates operations of the Northwestern University Interdepartmental Neuroscience (NUIN) graduate program, a cross-campus Ph.D.-granting organization that serves ~130 graduate students and ~160 faculty housed in approximately 30 departments. The SPC plays a crucial role in the success of the PhD program, as the point person responsible for tracking student milestones, course registration, graduation requirements, and general progress in the PhD program. They manage planning and logistics for several major program events, including the Annual NUIN Retreat, Student Orientation, Admissions and Recruitment, and the Spring Oral Presentations. They are also responsible for planning and scheduling NUIN courses and maintaining the course catalog. The SPC is a key member of NUIN leadership who collaborates on interpretation and development of program policy, program evaluation measures, troubleshooting and solving student and faculty concerns, and student recruitment and retention practices. In addition to interacting with students and faculty, the SPC coordinates with other NU entities such as The Registrar’s Office, The Graduate School, the Provost’s Office, Basic Sciences Administration, other departmental administrators, and Dean’s Offices, NUIT and FSM-IT. They supervise and provide work direction to the NUIN Program Assistant.
