Job Description

Orthopedic Surgeon for Riverside Medical Center: Will examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries to the musculoskeletal system. Will prescribe a course of treatment for patients with injuries, disorders, or malformations to the musculoskeletal system, and perform orthopedic surgeries including arthroscopy of joints, ligament reconstruction, joint arthroplasty, and fracture open reduction internal fixation. Will conduct and supervise direct patient care, including some non-surgical treatment options.  Will plan and execute disease prevention and health promotion programs. Will exercise command of medical units as regulated.  Will conduct medical research on new injuries or diseases, and participate in medical education and training of other medical personnel. Will participate in on-call schedules and provide outpatient consultation as well as hospital consultation services. Will maintain medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatments.  Must stay up-to-date on required CMEs based on the Board of Orthopedic Surgery.  Will enhance the department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
Requires: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree (or foreign equivalent) plus completion of a 5 year Residency Program in Orthopedic Surgery, and a 1 year Sports Medicine Fellowship with an emphasis on shoulder surgery. Must possess a license to practice medicine in Illinois, and be America Board Certified or eligible in Orthopedic Surgery. Submit resume to Riverside Medical Center, Ashley Moritz, 350 N.
