C.H. Robinson is currently seeking a Director of Intermodal Services to serve as a highly experienced strategic leader of our intermodal transportation division located in Lisle, IL. You will have results-driven accountability for customer growth and retention, financial results, strategic supplier relationships, improving efficiencies, and talent development. Critical to your success will be your evaluation of our customers’ supply chains as well as your development of account specific strategies while overseeing the leaders who execute them. Responsibilities:

+ Develop and execute the strategic vision for the intermodal services division, aligning with company objectives and market trends

+ Lead and mentor a team of managers, providing guidance and development opportunities

+ Oversee the negotiation and management of contracts with intermodal carriers, ensuring favorable terms

+ Cultivate customer relationships and build supply chain solutions to meet their needs

+ Optimize intermodal transportation networks to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels

+ Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions

+ Collaborate with sales, customer service, and IT teams to integrate intermodal solutions into broader logistics strategies

+ Represent C.H. Robinson publicly with customers, suppliers, and at industry events

+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance service quality

+ Manage financial performance, including revenue generation, expense management, and personnel-related costs, while implementing automation and process improvements for profitability

+ Manage the team’s reward and recognition strategies, including appropriate and consistent compensation administration, year-end compensation planning, and implementing other general employee recognition activities

+ Drive an inclusive culture that facilitates employee success which includes a positive work

Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

+ Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in transportation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

+ Minimum of 5 years of people management

+ Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive business growth and operational efficiency

+ Ability to travel up to 40%

+ Experience in Intermodal

+ Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

+ Strong negotiation skills with experience managing contracts with intermodal carriers and vendors

+ Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills to inspire high-performing teams

+ Analytical mindset with proficiency in using data for decision-making and performance improvements

+ Deep understanding of intermodal transportation operations, industry trends, and regulatory requirements

+ Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization and influence change through communication

+ Values a diverse and inclusive work environment, fostering positive results in a large, dispersed organization

+ Strong strategic orientation, critical thinking, and project management skills to evaluate impacts and execute plans effectively
