What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.

Job Summary

The Consultant, Inventory Management Optimization will be part of a Global, Cross Functional Team with the goal to drive the essential inventory planning and inventory optimization initiatives across all business units under the Medical Segment. Will do this by conducting specialized analyses of inventory and supplier data and warehouse operations. Serving as a subject matter expert and centralized resource for complex analyses, the Consultant uses inventory management technologies to optimize profiling and stocking of products, check supplier deductions, and analyze processes to inform operational improvements. While this job’s specific duties will vary on the needs of a specific facility, the Consultant contributes to the facility’s profitability and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

+ Identify and implement processes, strategies and technological solutions to meet Global Supply Chain’s financial metrics – global budgeted inventory costs and days inventory on hand (DIOH).

+ Assist in developing strategies like PFEP (Plan for every Part) to minimize the total inventory cost for Cardinal Health Branded products while maximizing service levels through optimal working capital utilization.

+ Focus on excess and no move (ENM)/Reserve with plan in place to mitigate future ENM and drive optimization projects in efforts to right size the inventory across the Point of Manufacturers.

+ Work closely with Finance on Inventory Forecasting Process and with Operations to share visibility on future projections as part of their Capacity Planning.

+ Interact with global planning, manufacturing, operations, marketing, finance, customer service and other functions inside Cardinal Health to develop and analyze finished goods inventories.

+ Execute and analyze various ad-hoc reports and analyses in support of Cardinal Health inventory and replenishment strategies as well as support in the process of forecasting volumes to replenishment centers (RC’s).

+ Support and guide inventory forecast and budgeting processes with businesses and regions.

+ Identify and lead supply chain projects to optimize inventory and reduce risks by rolling out best practices in support of optimal inventory performance and capital management and supporting projects in collaboration with supply chain, operations, financial, & commercial teams.

+ Execute process improvement initiatives related to inventory optimization strategy.

+ Create and implement standardized metrics (KPI’s) and reporting calendars aligned with finance reporting calendars.

+ Develop processes for inventory calculations, data, risks, and SOX controls.

+ Serve as subject matter expert in modeling inventory scenarios and act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations or Supply Chain, or equivalent related experience preferred.

+ 3+ years of experience working under Planning (Supply / Demand / Inventory), Operations, or Finance/Accounting highly preferred.

+ Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Cloud databases, IBP/Kinaxis highly preferred.

+ Lean knowledge and Operational Excellence project experience preferred with ability to identify and drive improvements using root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong professionalism, interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to build rapport, understanding, and trust with all key stakeholders preferred.

+ Strong analytical skills, proven ability to analyze data trends with the use of reporting tools and drive action from findings preferred.

+ Self-starter, ability to navigate ambiguity and be proactive in recommending solutions and solving problems preferred.

Anticipated salary range: $65,500 – $93,500
