In this role, you will be part of our Global Operations Learning & Development (GOLD) team a group of motivated learning experts to establish and drive our strategy, build relationships, lead projects, and ensure successful design, delivery, and measurement of our educational programs. GOLD is a global team that builds and provides a consistent and robust learning journey to onboard and develop frontline leaders in WWOps to be successful in role. You will work both independently and as an integrated member of global teams and conduct detailed training needs assessments, design and build innovative learning solutions across a variety of modalities.

The Sr Learning and Development Specialist role is critical in executing our program and project initiatives (both existing and new), while providing great internal customer support. The role will drive consistency, help us build systems and solutions across business lines, and drive excellence through process improvement.

Successful candidates will be self-driven, have experience in large matrix organizations, be detail-oriented, and have excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities. You will need strong business acumen, excellent communication and influencing skills, strategic thinking, and planning/project management skills. This includes a proven ability to cultivate strong partnerships, consult, and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects to develop leadership skills & capabilities for WW Operations leaders. This involves ensuring the right learning solutions are delivered to the right people at the right time.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and subject matter experts to assess training needs in detail.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams within PXT and GOLD (e.g. BI, Learning Technology, Coordination, Facilitation) to drive the rollout and success of GOLD’s learning solutions.
  • Observe and audit training rollouts to ensure the learner experience meets program objectives.
  • Design, oversee and manage learning metrics across multiple regions.
  • Design and execute innovative, measurable learning journeys using various training modalities.
  • Implement learning assessments and measurement to validate the business impact and ROI of training solutions.
  • Stay current with trends in learning technology, science, and analytics through research, experiments, and presentations.

About the team

The Global Operations Learning & Development (GOLD) team is hiring a Sr. L&D Learning Specialist to support leadership development programs within Worldwide Ops (WWOps). As a member of the GOLD team, the Sr. Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining proficiency programs. This role is critical in shaping the entire learning experience and leadership development of this population, playing a pivotal role in optimizing the learning experience to ensure they are well-equipped to effectively support their team and the operation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working with cross-functional tech- and non-tech teams
  • Flexible to work within a global team across a variety of time zones

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, or MBA in learning design, learning science, instructional design, educational psychology, or similar field.
  • Experience designing and executing innovative and scalable learning journeys.
  • Experience in designing or deploying innovative learning to support adult learners in a corporate context.
  • Knowledge of adult learning, content design and facilitation.
  • Experience using quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals.
  • Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced, changing work environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel.
  • Confidence in dealing with senior leadership and ability to communicate in a crisp, concise, and professional manner
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $189,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
