Job no: 502426 Work type: Regular Full-Time Location: Chicago – 55 East Monroe Street, IL Capability Area: IT Development and Infrastructure JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting with the build-out of corporate LAN/WAN environments based on CISCO and other network technology and for providing technical support and analysis for infrastructure-related projects. DEPARTMENT: IT Development and Infrastructure NORC’s Information Technology program provides technology services to our staff and clients. RESPONSIBILITIES: Support new network infrastructure projects and implementations Assist with the development and implementation of security standards, procedures and guidelines for the production center platforms, remote access methods and environments Coordinate network system upgrades and the performance of maintenance tasks Develop recommendations or solutions for upgrades and improvements to ensure a stable, available, and protected network infrastructure Perform research and consults with resources, vendors, and internal customers to ensure the effectiveness of the infrastructure Diagnose and resolve difficult and complex network infrastructure problems Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services and take active role in improving procedures Solve a range of both complex and straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standard procedures Perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant expertise Skills required: Problem solving skills. Abilities required: Ability to work independently Minimum of 3 years of experience in installation and maintenance of Citrix or Cisco based infrastructure in an Enterprise context. Good customer interaction skills and verbal and written communication skills are required Some travel to company site Position encompasses network, virtual servers, storage systems and IP telephony Possess knowledge of the Windows operating system SALARY AND BENEFITS: The pay range for this position is$84,000- $126,000. This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC’s comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
