ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Process Safety Engineer, you will be accountable to the HSE Manager, and be responsible for process safety and operational safety functions for the Chicagoland region: Des Plaines Campus including R&D and Riverside and McCook facilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Mechanical Integrity/Reliability Engineering program for two R&D sites and one chemical manufacturing site
Lead/participate in hazard reviews and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of lab, pilot plant and manufacturing activities
Review changes to lab, pilot plant and manufacturing activities for impact on process safety
Conduct participate in audits of process safety activities, including annual self assessment tool and RC 14001 Audits; develop / implement action plans to address audit findings when needed
Lead / participate in investigations of process-related incidents
Work with Pilot Plant Engineering Design and Construction group to help develop engineering design standards related to process safety systems
Work with other members of the Chicago area HSE Team to help share best practices across sites
YOU MUST HAVEHigh school diploma or equivalent
3+ years experience in process engineering, including mechanical integrity/reliability engineering experience
Ability to travel between Chicagoland sites
WE VALUEBachelors of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Process safety experience
Experience in Health, Safety and Environmental management
