Job Title: Food Chemist

Job Description

As a Food Chemist, you will be responsible for testing for protein, moisture, salt, and fat. You will provide expertise in the development of formulations for current and future products, create new products from conceptualization to commercialization, and improve the nutritional quality, flavor, and texture of food products. Key responsibilities include managing a food chemistry testing laboratory, conducting research and experiments to develop new food products and processes, analyzing and modifying food ingredients to improve nutritional value, and developing methods for preserving and processing food products. You will also evaluate the quality of food ingredients and products, develop food safety protocols, create food recipes and formulas, design and test food packaging, communicate with other departments to ensure food products meet customer specifications, determine the nutritional content of food, analyze the chemical composition and structure of food, research new food sources, identify and develop new preservatives, additives, and food processing techniques to enhance quality and safety, and analyze raw materials.

Hard Skills

+ BS in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or Food Science

+ 2+ years experience in a Food Chemistry lab.

+ Experience testing for protein content, moisture, and fat

Soft Skills

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Ability to interpret and apply scientific findings to food

+ Ability to translate business objectives into clear project goals
