About the role: The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll functions of the organization. This role ensures that payroll processing is completed accurately and on time, adhering to all company policies and regulatory requirements. The Payroll Supervisor will lead the payroll team, provide training and support, and handle escalated issues. The supervisor will be engaged with all aspects of the process, including processing. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills.

Assists with oversight of payroll operations. Ensures payroll is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assists with recruiting and training of payroll staff

+ Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

+ Provides constructive and timely feedback

+ Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.

+ Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

+ Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

+ Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

+ Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

+ Identifies and recommends updates to processes and procedures.

+ Other duties as required.

+ Supervise, train current and new payroll staff

+ Collaborate with payroll provider, IT, HR for compliance and correct functionality.

+ Serve as primary point of contact for payroll related inquiries from employees and location.

+ Handle and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly.

+ Identify opportunities to streamline process, implement best practices.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.

+ FPC or CPP preferred

Experience:

+ Four years of experience in payroll processing required with two years in a supervisory or management role preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

+ Excellent time management and organizational skills.

+ Exceptional attention to detail.

+ Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

+ Proficient with payroll software (ADP Enterprise version 5).

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

+ Travel requirement outside of immediate area less than 10%

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

+ Must be able to work flexible work schedules as needed.

+ 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities

+ Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

+ The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
