Job Description

A fantastic opportunity awaits at our metal processing facility where large coils of metals are cut into smaller coils or large sheets. We are looking for a Receiving Clerk, a role that has consistently served as a stepping stone to higher roles within the facility. Your primary responsibilities will include interacting with dispatchers and truckers coming to pick up or deliver products, opening the garage doors for incoming trucks, managing shipping labels and orders, and performing basic data entry tasks at a computer station in the warehouse. Once a year, you will also participate in cycle counting and inventory. Training will be provided for Forklift & Overhead Crane operations, although usage is typically reserved for emergency situations due to union policies. he standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm, with a pre-shift starting at 5am. Upon completion of 90 days, you will be integrated into the Union.

This is a fully on-site position in Northbrook, Illinois.

Work Environment

Our facility houses a total of 30 production employees. Equipped with overhead cranes for loading coils into machines or products onto trucks, it has a bustling yet organized workflow. The facility also has a unique feature where trucks drive directly into the facility for loading. Additionally, the crating area doubles as a carpentry shop, adding to the diversity of the tasks and roles within the workspace.
