Job Title: Inside Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Inside Machinist with a minimum of 6 years experience in a shop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating both manual and NC machines such as lathes, mills, horizontal & vertical machining centers, EDMs, etc. You will also need to be well-versed in the use of precision measuring instruments like outside/inside micrometers, depth mics, verniers, etc. A strong ability to comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints is essential for this role.

+ Familiarity with Numerical Controlled Processes
+ Manual Data Input
+ Tooling Offsets
+ Conversation Controllers
+ Experience with controllers such as: Fanuc, Siemens, Acramatic, Cincinnati-Milacron
+ Knowledge of precision measuring instruments
+ Familiarity with threading and the various measuring/gauging requirements
+ Drilling/tapping processes
+ Familiarity with carbide machining processes
+ Ability to comprehend complex mechanical drawings and blueprints
Work Environment
This position is located in a shipyard that stretches over 5 miles long in Southeast Virginia. The climate is typically hot and muggy during the summer and cool during the winter. All work will be performed on a Navy vessel or in a shop environment. Candidates must be available to work any shift: 1st shift: 7am-3:30pm, 2nd shift: 3:30-11pm, and a 3rd shift: 11pm-7am. Shift availability is not guaranteed.
