Job Description

As a Lamination Operator, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including mixing adhesive according to formulas, performing first piece inspections, and setting up and operating the machine according to established procedures. Your role will also involve maintaining the cleanliness of machines and the adjacent work area to SQF standard, utilizing satellite containers for Hazardous Waste, and reporting any quality issues to the Laminator Operator I and/or the manager, supervisor, or group leader for analysis and/or remedy. You will verify the correct calculation of the needed amount of adhesive for the job and ascertain which impression rollers are needed for four hours, cutting or resurfacing them as necessary. Assisting the operator with adding adhesive, changing raw material rolls, and other substrates, as well as operating the machine for break coverage, will also be part of your duties. Your role will also involve participating in our Performance System (SPS) activities as required, which may include 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, Near Misses, etc.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a specific spot that may get dirty and smell during production due to working with adhesive. It’s situated within a 500,000 sqft facility where safety is a top priority. The facility is extremely clean and well-organized, with departments including Print, Lamination, Slitting, Warehouse, and Maintenance. The facility boasts a strong tenured workforce and has seen a recent investment of new machinery ($8mil), with additional capx planned throughout the next 3-5 years ($80mil). The facility also features updated breakrooms with a new self-serve vending process.
