Job Description
The Project Director Strategic Execution and Partnerships (SEP) is responsible for managing projects and ensuring process discipline in support of BCBSA's critical, cross-functional business initiatives. The role provides internal business owners with day-to-day project management support, including but not limited to tracking progress toward deliverables, managing and escalating risks, and ensuring effective communication across teams. The role also provides business owners with hands-on support in following established management processes, such as RACI models, Objectives & Key Results tracking, and leadership and governance reporting.
Project Management. Provides project management for initiatives by building realistic work roadmaps, tracking and reporting use of allocated resources (i.e., funding, time and staff), monitoring progress toward milestones, and anticipating and identifying risks in a timely manner. Troubleshoots variances and other challenges and proposes practical solutions to the business owner and project team. Documents project team meeting discussions, including decisions, assignments and due dates, and follows up with business owner and team members to ensure accountability.
Process Managment, Reporting and Improvement. Partners with business owners in monitoring, and managing consistent business performance measurement processes, including Objectives and Key Results and RACI models. Uses reporting tools and supports Strategic Execution and Partnerships leadership in pacing executive leadership. Translates project content to create compelling presentation materials for internal leadership and BCBSA governing bodies. Proactively identifies inefficiencies and champions continuous process improvement.

Certifications
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of project management experience
Minimum of 1 year managing multiple projects. Experience in directing and mentoring program and/or project managers
Experience working in healthcare and/or a regulated industry
Skills
Familiarity with different project management principles and techniques
Knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management tools and change management techniques
Superior analytical skills to support quality decision making in support of projects
Outstanding communications skills, ability to effectively present concepts and issues for both business and technical audiences
Outstanding organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to work independently, attention to detail and very strong customer service orientation
Experience with and knowledge of U.S. health payer industry, ideally within the BCBS System and its member Plans is preferred
Familiarity with common business process management methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) is preferred
