Bruker Alicona, part of the Bruker Nano Surfaces Division, provides customers in a variety of manufacturing and academic industries with high-performance measurement solutions. We develop, produce and distribute Optical 3D Metrology systems worldwide for quality assurance of complex components of different shapes, sizes and materials. Bruker Alicona optical measuring systems close the gap between classical dimensional metrology and surface roughness measurement.

As a Support/Service Engineer, you analyze and resolve customer issues, determine the necessary spare parts, and collaborate closely with all departments within our company
You also perform the inspection, repair and maintenance of the Bruker Alicona Optical 3D Measurement System family of products throughout North America.

 


Responsibilities

 

* Customer support and troubleshooting via phone and email
* Analyze malfunctioning measurement systems and determine corrective action, replace faulty components, and make necessary adjustments and alignments
* Spare part management for US stock
* Prepare and submits reports covering all job activities with accuracy and detail
* Participate in on-the-job training of field service personnel when required
* Suggest methods to offer improvement to equipment performance and functionality
* Keep up-to-date on new product and product changes within his/her required sphere of activity to increase own capabilities and skills
* Perform other tasks as assigned by manager or supervisor
* Travel to customer locations 40% or less
* Perform preventive maintenance and calibration according to written procedures
* Conduct all field assignments according to service department procedures

 


Qualifications

 

* AA degree or technical education in field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, Materials Science or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated ability to analyze, diagnose, and repair complex equipment problems in a minimum amount of time
* Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with both internal and external customers
* Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to make timely and effective decisions
* Familiarity with the operation and use of standard tools and electronic test equipment
* Familiarity with the use of personal computers
* Ability to travel by air and car both domestically and internationally if needed
At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. You will have the ability progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
