Position Details:

Grainger is creating new experiences for our customers through custom software. Offerings such as Grainger.com empower our customers to accomplish their goals by making it easy to interact with Grainger's assortment of MRO products. Grainger's product engineering teams make this happen by adopting modern software development practices to continually improve what we offer our customers.

The mission of the Security Architecture team is to assess risks and create designs which secure our global technology footprint. As a security architect, you will develop the patterns which support our business goals and strategies, focusing on product security.
Your scope of influence includes partnering with product engineering teams. You will influence through leading deep technical discussions with Architects, Engineers, and Product Managers.

You will report to the Sr. Director of Information Security Architecture & Engineering and may be based remotely or at our offices in the Chicago area.

Compensation:
This position is salaried and will pay between $143,000.00 to $238,400.00 with a target bonus of 20%

The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to: a candidate's experience, qualifications, geographical area, and internal equity of the team.

You Will:
Research and develop architecture frameworks and services which enable product and application security.
Define the roadmap to integrate security within Grainger's portfolio of custom software solutions.
Bring a partner mindset to defining security requirements, evaluating architectures, analyzing trade-offs, and recommending solutions.
Assess risks through threat modeling, design reviews, white-boarding exercises, and evaluating the results of security testing.
Define integration patterns for security tooling to be utilized by engineering teams as part of their development processes.

You Have:
5+ years of technology experience in hands-on software development and architecture
3+ years of information security experience,
College degree or equivalent industry experience in a technical field
CISSP of other security or vendor product certifications
Knowledge of cloud security with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Knowledge of contemporary software development practices
Familiarity with security frameworks and industry standards
