Job Description
30% Subject to management approval, serves as the Web and Admin Development Team Manager for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Department of Human Services (DHS):
- Organizes, plans, and directs the operations and maintenance of the DoIT/DHS.OneNet/Executive System Development Unit.
- Manages the development, maintenance, and operations of DoIT/DHS web-based content and learning management systems using ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, Javascript, W3C- and IITAA-standards compliant HTML, and related technologies.
- Serves as staff specialist to assist in management in long-range plans for the agency regarding website software development and support.
- Develops budgetary information for support programs.
- Modifies and develops new standards, procedures, processes, and techniques to provide a high level of website software development and support.
25% Serves as a working supervisor:
- Assigns and reviews work.
- Provides guidance and training to assigned staff.
- Counsels staff regarding work performance.
- Reassigns staff to meet day-to-day operating needs.
- Establishes annual goals and objectives.
- Approves time off.
- Prepares and signs performance evaluations.
15% Develops and sustains working relationships with government and private agencies regarding the use of web resources:
- Researches and reviews website software support resources available to users and support staff.
- Develops and sustains an accessibility software technique mentoring program.
10% Collaborates with DoIT/DHS staff to ensure high quality website software support services, systems and support materials:
- Develops, installs, and evaluates new and revised methods and procedures regarding use and development of web resources.
- Discusses new ideas, problems and resolutions.
- Offers technical advisory information on website software support and customer service.
10% Plans, directs, and conducts extensive and complex administrative studies of website software use and support services statewide:
- Presents results and recommendations to management staff.
5% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field:
- Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations
5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
