Job Description
40% Under general direction, serves as the Programmer/Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS):
- Interviews and consults with agency users of information services concerning the revision and improvement of any existing data processing system, or the development and documentation of a new system.
- Performs analysis of related user needs and objectives in the application of information services to existing manual systems.
20% Interviews and consults with agency users of information services concerning the revision and improvement of any existing data processing system, or the development and documentation of a new system:
- Performs analysis of related user needs and objectives in the application of information services to existing manual systems.
20% Prepares, defines, modifies, or designs data processing system narratives following established agency standards:
- Develops generalized and detailed systems specification.
- Applies cross-checks and auditing.
- Procedures to assure accurate and reliable practices in information systems operations and to determine and correct deviation from specifications.
10% Participates in studies of data processing problems:
- Prepares written logical programming steps to resolve problems.
5% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Higher Order Systems Design and Programming field:
- Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations
5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
