JOB DESCRIPTION
Big Ten Network is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented freelance video editor to join our freelance editing team. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in Adobe Premiere Pro, a team-first attitude, 2+ years of experience working in sports television, and a working knowledge of Big Ten sports. This position will be a hybrid position, with in-office presence strongly preferred for studio shows or other edits that benefit from quick communication or in-person teamwork.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Edit highlights, B-roll, montages, features, and any other content for Big Ten Network broadcast or departmental needs.
Edit event cutdowns (often late to overnight shifts on weekends)
Serve as the liaison between the edit room and control room during Big Ten Network shows and live studio/game broadcasts as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1+ years of experience as an editor on studio shows, live events, and event cutdowns
Extensive experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience mixing audio and color correction
Flexible to adjust to an ever-evolving production schedule
Capable of working nights, weekends, overnights, and holidays
Capable of working closely with a team
Capable of working with minimal supervision as needed
High level attention to detail
High level time management and multitasking
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on tight deadlines
Ability to understand and troubleshoot technical problems associated with editing as needed

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
High school diploma or equivalency
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience
Grass Valley Stratus experience
iNews experience
Knowledge of Big Ten sports
