Overview
Join AIR as a Research Intern with our Youth, Family, and Community Development program to foster equitable pathways for young people, families, and communities to thrive.
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking Research Interns to assist with a multi-year project. The four-year study is a partnership between AIR and Oklahoma's Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) and is funded by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). The study will examine the implementation and outcomes of Oklahoma's legislative and administrative juvenile justice policy changes, especially the implementation of community-based alternatives to youth incarceration.
Data collection activities will include a document review, the capture of online information related to juvenile justice programming in the State of Oklahoma, cleaning and processing of data received from OJA, and interviews with youth-serving agencies, youth, and their caregivers throughout Oklahoma. Findings from the data collection processes will be shared in convenings with key stakeholders, at local, regional, and national meetings, and through the development of publications and presentations. The findings of the study will benefit youth-serving agencies and juvenile justice system stakeholders in Oklahoma and throughout the United States.
Candidates hired for the position must reside in Oaklahoma and have the ability to travel to communities across Oklahoma for data collection purposes.
