Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Position Summary: The IT Epic Clinical Informatics & Training Manager is an integral member of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) leadership team. The Manager is responsible for providing direct leadership to the Informatics Training staff in their assigned region as well as indirect guidance to the Informatics Training staff in all other regions. The Manager will promote enterprise-wide thinking and consider the impact to all regions when supporting/developing training systems. This position willpromote consistency in all aspects of training and support across the Carle enterprise. This role will help to ensure Epic users across the Carle enterprise are prepared with the necessary Epic skills and tools to be successful. Superior interpersonal, communication, training, and presentation abilities are key to this position. The role requires significant collaboration with Epic directors and the Epic Clinical Vice President, analysts, providers, nursing, and operational leadership. The Manager will seek out modern technology, be innovative, and utilize effective and creative problem-solving techniques. The Managerand their staff will work closely with the Epic Performance Program Manager on provider and clinician efficiency projects. This position will complete Epic principal trainer certification within twelve months of hire or as directed by their one-up to meet the needs of the organization. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

+ Bachelors Degree in Education, Information Systems, Related Field or

+ Experience in Lieu of Education – Five (5) years of experience with program development and instruction

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

+ Epic Certification within 1 year.

+ Driver’s License upon hire.

+ May require travel to Epic headquarters in Wisconsin, other Carle sites, and partner sites.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

+ Five (5) years Education/Training – Instructional Coordinator or

+ Five (5) years Related Field.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

+ Superior written and verbal communication skills plus

+ Ability to communicate effectively across all leadership, provider, and staff levels across the Carle enterprise.

+ Strong computer skills, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.

+ Successfully initiate, lead, direct, and support team members from across the Carle on a variety of complex projects.

+ Knowledge of systems training processes, methods, and applications.

+ Experience working with Electronic Health Records.

+ Collaborate with department Director on management of operating budget.

+ Demonstrated skills in prioritization, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, negotiation, work delegation, and organization.

Essential Functions:

+ Assign resources in collaboration with department Director

+ Identify ongoing training needs, gaps, and opportunities and make recommendations to the Director

+ Ensure work is accurate and follows the format, style, and tone as set forth by leadership

+ Delegate team assignments and monitor performance to ensure goals are met

+ Lead and participate in projects at the local, regional, and system levels

+ Manage tasks within project timelines

+ Plan, manage, attend, lead, and document notes/minutes of phone, virtual, and in-person/onsite meetings.

+ Collaborate with clinical leaders, clinical staff, and providers

+ Plan, prioritize, design, develop, implement, and evaluate EHR technology

+ Provide on-site support for projects, acquisitions, Community Connect implementations, and upgrades

+ Work closely with IT, Epic teams, and clinic operations/management

+ Ensure efficient and effective use/deployment of the EHR application(s) and associated training programs;

+ which may include required governmental or regulatory programs

+ Organize, conduct, and/or participate in system-wide initiatives, events, and projects of varying size and complexity

+ with a focus on recommending and implementing change, identifying, and resolving barriers and improving processes

+ Adhere to standardized training curricula, class length, and delivery methods and utilize approved survey tools

+ Evaluate and measure the results of training

+ Utilize Epic reports to monitor provider and clinician mastery of the EHR

+ Develop and deliver customized training to improve users’ Epic efficiency

+ Research potential solutions, identify opportunities, track

+ Seek approval for enhancement request

+ Assist in the prioritization and implementation of system changes

+ Maintain a collaborative relationship with team, clinicians, providers, other departments, and outside partners

+ Function as a liaison between clinicians, providers, and Information Technology

+ Create, lead, and attend Epic educational offerings

+ Share learnings with others to improve knowledge

+ Educate the organizations we serve

+ Manage personnel functions including hiring, performance, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary issues.

+ Provide leadership and mentoring to staff

+ Ensure effective and efficient operations, and optimal performance

+ Promote continuous quality improvement.

+ Provides tools and oversight for the informatics trainer credentialing process

+ Participate in establishing and preparing enterprise and departmental goals, standards, procedures, and instructions which contribute Carle’s overall organizational goals and manage the department budget in collaboration with the

+ Director, be budget-conscious by promoting virtual education, training, and support where appropriate

+ Conduct performance appraisals for staff within the department and create an environment for staff growth, development, productivity, and satisfaction

+ Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff and the management team to foster an environment of openness, trust, teamwork, and staff development

+ Support Informatics Trainers and End Users by proactively managing incident and service requests via the Cherwellsystem and identify, track, and seek approval for enhancement request
