US Technology, Infrastructure & Innovation (US TI&I) enables the continuous transformation of our Bank by accelerating the shift to digital, strengthening operational resilience, simplifying what we do, improving CIBC’s speed to market and protecting our Bank’s assets.

The teams work to maximize the investment in resources and technology while building an appropriate balance between high-touch client service and our fiduciary responsibility to protect CIBC, our clients, and our shareholders from undue risk.

What you’ll be doing

As part of the US Technology team, the Lead Technology Strategy Analyst is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the organization’s technology initiatives. This role involves analyzing market trends, evaluating new technologies, and aligning tech strategy with business goals. You will work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

+ Develop and implement comprehensive technology strategies that align with business objectives.

+ Lead the assessment of current technology capabilities and future technology needs.

+ Formulate actionable plans to achieve strategic goals and oversee their execution.

Market Analysis and Trends:

+ Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.

+ Provide insights and recommendations based on market research to inform strategic decisions.

Technology Evaluation and Implementation:

+ Evaluate new technologies and tools to determine their potential impact and fit within the organization.

+ Lead pilot programs and proof of concept initiatives to test new technologies.

+ Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement selected technologies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

+ Act as a liaison between the technology department and other business units to ensure alignment and integration of technology initiatives.

+ Communicate technology strategy and progress to senior management and other stakeholders.

Team Leadership and Development:

+ Mentor and guide junior analysts and other team members.

+ Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and professional development.

Who you are

+ ?You have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology (IT), computer science, engineering or finance, or an equal combination of education in a related field and industry experience.

+ You have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in technology strategy, technology consulting, or a related field.

+ You can demonstrate proven experience in leading technology strategy initiatives and projects.

+ You have in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies and their business applications.

+ You have strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

+ You are driven by success with established business judgement.

+ You are proactive, well-organized and results-oriented. A self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently.

+ You are a highly motivated, perseverant, and resilient in pursuing objectives despite challenges.

+ You have strong verbal and written communication, presentation skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information and ideas.

+ You have strong interpersonal and team skills and are comfortable working in flexible and collaborative environment.

+ You embrace and champion change to deliver optimal results.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
