We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the Senior Vice President Operations & Ancillary Support position at University of Chicago Medicine/AdventHealth Great Lakes Region (UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth GLR) in Illinois.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer of UChicago Medicine/AdventHealth GLR, the Region SVP Operations & Ancillary Support provides leadership for the development and execution of regional strategy for ancillary, support services, performance improvement and the standardization of hospital operations across the Great Lakes Region. Partners cohesively with hospital operators, regional clinical and financial leaders, and corporate functional leaders to ensure deployment of best practice care models and delivery of high quality, cost efficient, integrated clinical programs. Responsible for assessing the region’s process improvement portfolio ensuring appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance. Identifies high priority opportunities, risks, key capital projects and potential partnerships. Ensures regional operational performance meets/exceeds targets. The SVP works directly with the Regional CEO in determining the strategic direction and assists in the leadership and development of directors who manage the related resources required to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff. Responsible for physicians who are directly employed or contracted for necessary services across the region (radiologists, emergency room physicians, anesthesia, pathology). Shapes and fosters a mission-driven, consumer-focused culture with empowered leaders and team members to drive results.

P RINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

+ Creates connectivity, cohesiveness, and standardization among all GLR facilities within the clinical ancillary and support service areas to align and ensure consistent care is provided to all patients regardless of point of entry.

+ Initiates and collaborates on the designs of strategic direction across each ancillary and support services, advocating for system support and implementing strategic plans in conjunction with operational owners to achieve a regional approach and reduce variation.

+ Partners closely with the Corporate VP, System Ancillary and Support Services to represent the Great Lakes Region on cross-divisional and cross-disciplined governance networks which inform decisions and review performance across AdventHealth.

+ Identifies strategic synergies across Great Lakes Region and facilitates cross-functional business focus, planning and data analysis in support of growth opportunities and strategic initiatives to enhance market share and improve overall performance.

+ Responsible for assisting the GLR Regional CEO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in ensuring operational success of the GLR hospitals. Works through the hospital management team to:

+ Ensure regional alignment of the day-to-day organizational operations.

+ Ensure that services in each department are provided in a manner that meets all applicable regulatory licensure and accrediting regulations.

+ Ensure the most efficient and appropriate use of labor, space, equipment, and other resources resulting in excellent clinical care, service, productivity and EBDIT.

+ Develops and fosters effective collaboration among hospital CEOs, clinical departments, medical staff, and other affiliated services fulfilling the region’s strategic goals and objectives with a focus on safety ad best-practice outcomes for patients across the continuum.

+ Partners with Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to ensure integration of operations and the operational success of developed service line and strategies.
