Job Description

Description We are offering a role for a Bookkeeper in Hinsdale, Illinois. This is a short term contract employment opportunity in the telecom provider industry. The Bookkeeper will be primarily responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is critical to the financial health of our organization and requires someone who is organized, reliable, and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities:

- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.

- Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month.

- Monitor financial transactions and reports.

- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.

- Create financial reports and statements.

- Ensure that the organization’s financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

- Utilize QuickBooks for accounting and bookkeeping tasks.

- Manage QuickBooks entries and ensure the accuracy of all data entered.

- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

- Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

- Provide support for annual audits and ensure that appropriate accounting procedures are followed.

- Analyze financial data and prepare financial forecasts.

- Identify and address discrepancies.

- Assist in budgeting and financial planning processes. Requirements – Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations

- Demonstrated skills in Bookkeeping

- Ability to perform accurate Data Entry

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Experience with Month End Close procedures

- Knowledge of Payroll procedures

- Proficiency in QuickBooks software

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred

- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
