Job Description

As an R&D Tech I here at Honeywell Energy & Sustainability Solutions (ESS) UOP, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts. You will work closely with our team of scientists and engineers to conduct experiments, collect data, and assist in the development of innovative solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact in the field of energy and sustainability.

You will report directly to our R&D Manager and you’ll work out of our Des Plaines, IL location. You will work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, alternating between day and night shifts every two weeks. Work shifts are 6am to 6pm for days, 6pm to 6am for nights, and include holidays and weekends. In this role, you will: - Assist in the setup and execution of experiments, following established protocols and procedures. - Collect and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. - Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects and achieve project goals. - Contribute to the development of new processes and technologies. - Document experimental procedures, results, and observations. - Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. YOU MUST HAVE

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Provide pilot plant support for R&D customers, Manufacturing, and Sales Support. - Conduct pilot plant startups and shutdowns. - Monitor and adjust process conditions. - Troubleshoot equipment and process issues. - Prepare and collect samples while promoting safety excellence. - Become proficient in the Honeywell Operating System (HOS) and contribute to continuous improvement efforts on area work processes to improve the group’s effectiveness in supporting the development of the latest catalysts, adsorbents, and process technologies. - Collect, organize, interpret, and compare data against expected performance.
