Area Sales Director (Central) – Malt and RTD – This position will be based in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

As the driving force behind our malt portfolio, you’ll be responsible for crafting and implementing pricing plans that deliver both revenue and sales contributions. You’ll lead a talented team, setting the direction and ensuring our distributor partners are aligned with our retail and on-premise strategies. Your role is pivotal in developing a successful vision/strategy through robust leadership, fostering an environment of inspiration and motivation. Your day-to-day will involve planning, developing, and executing programs that maximize sales, setting objectives and priorities, and maintaining legal compliance. You’ll be the financial steward of our sales plan, ensuring the success of our Malt portfolio. Developing and coaching a team of Business Development Managers and Market Development Managers, you’ll maintain staffing levels to meet current and anticipated needs, all while driving change with an innovation and entrepreneurial mindset. Collaboration is key in this role. You’ll work closely with distributor leadership to execute annual sales plans, assess market conditions, and ensure our brands receive the attention they deserve. Leveraging technology and digital assets to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions will be part of your daily routine. + Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of Gallo winery sales or distributor sales management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of CPG sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of Gallo winery sales or distributor sales management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

+ Supervisory/managerial experience to include ability to provide motivational guidance and direction.

+ Sales leadership experience within the Malt or RTD category.

+ Ability to influence all levels of the organization.

+ Required to see, smell and taste wine, spirits and malt products as part of job duties.

+ Required to travel by air and car up to 40% of the time as part of job duties.

+ Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain an appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.

+ Required to obtain Liquor License as required by state/locality.

+ Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

+ Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart:

+ Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of Gallo winery sales or distributor sales experience to include a prior director level rotation within Gallo winery sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master’s degree plus 8 years of Gallo winery sales or distributor sales experience to include a prior director level rotation within Gallo winery sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

+ Knowledge of assigned market.

+ Experience working in both distributor and supplier side.

+ Level 1, 2, 3 or 4 Cicerone Certification(s).

Compensation:

+ Hiring salary range posted: $173,600 – $260,400 / year

+ Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
