Job Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Director Global Cloud Infrastructure and Operations to lead and be responsible for the cloud capabilities execution within our Digitizing the Arches Strategy. The Sr. Director must be able to foster a collaborative working relationship with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and various functional and business partners across the organization. Demonstrated success in building and implementing a sophisticated cloud ecosystem, with intimate knowledge of cloud fundamentals and their impact on our ability to grow and protect the McDonald’s Brand, our employees, and our customers. Qualified applicants should have a solid background in technology, governance models, and risk frameworks. A successful candidate will have the ability to create McDonald’s cloud ecosystem strategy and see that through the creation and evolution of products and services which are cost appropriate and value generating. Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

+ Lead and run the vision and design of all cloud infrastructure including compute and storage for cloud hosting. Builds the strategy for private, hybrid and public cloud use for McDonald’s. Leads the operationalization and scale strategies for all cloud based critical initiatives

+ Lead and implement our cloud business across the entire McDonald’s System. Enabling a 24×7×365 cloud infrastructure and operations organization with staff located in multiple global locations through DevSecOps methods

+ Develop and deploy objectives and strategies to continuously improve resiliency, redundancy and security (partnering with our GTRM team) of all cloud products and services through DevOps practices and site reliability engineering

+ Creates and maintains key vendor relationship with regards to all cloud solutions and service providers

+ Defines, implements, reviews, monitors and manages all operational KPI’s relative to cloud spend including governance.

+ Defines and maintains critical cloud policies regarding SLA’s, agreements with security, disaster recovery, acceptable use, data retention and other areas.

+ Partner with senior level collaborators across Infrastructure and Operations as well as partnering organizations to build and maintain value generating cloud products and services. Collaborates with engineering, architecture, security and other infrastructure and operations teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions and support methods

+ Drive education on the implementation and support of new cloud technologies and initiatives

+ Lead the cloud engineering and operations team members in driving innovation, automation, cloud services and operations to achieve McDonald’s strategic vision. Develops opportunities for cross-team effectiveness through removing organizational barriers thereby building strong teamwork, collaboration and excellence in service delivery

+ Communicates and builds strong technical competence throughout the cloud team and with a broad group of partners

+ Mentor, manage, and empower, both directly and indirectly, a successful team of professionals and set clear priorities to achieve team goals.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields preferred

+ 10+ years’ experience in cloud technologies

+ 5+ years of complex end-to-end systems integration & implementation experience within a cloud ecosystem

+ 5+ years of team leadership experience managing, coaching and mentoring cloud operations engineers and/or software engineers

+ Familiarity with complex multinational companies and distributed business models.

+ Excellent solid understanding of cloud (Google, AWS and Azure preferred), security, cloud FinOps, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems.

+ SOC2 and ISO2700 experience preferred

+ Strong analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources often through ambiguity and uncertainty.

+ Ability to manage senior executive partner expectations and resolve conflicts

+ Very familiar with DevSecOps, modern product management, agile and engineering practices

+ Exceptional relationship leadership skills and the ability to build and grow connections with people of all types and backgrounds from all over the world.

+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence multiple parties towards common goals

+ Naturally elevates others and creates a culture of belonging through engaging successful teams
