Job Description:

We are seeking a Director, Transformation (Edge Business Office) to drive and oversee value capture activities for our Edge program. We are moving fast and are adding to our best-in-class team, and joining McDonald’s means thinking big every day and preparing for a career that will impact the world! As a part of our modernization efforts, we are installing Edge servers managed by Google Cloud for faster, low latency analytics and enhancements to our customer facing platforms. This critical program requires a strong leader to be responsible for our Edge Business Office. This role requires an operations expert, an effective communicator, and a proactive leader who can navigate sophisticated projects, collaborate cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful execution of our ground-breaking goals.

The Director plays a pivotal role in driving the strategic agenda and operational efficiency of the Global Edge Program organization at McDonald’s. Reporting directly to the Vice President (VP) of Consumer and Restaurant Platform Infrastructure and Operations, this individual supports driving the overall Global Edge program, managing cross-functional engagements, workstreams, and ensuring effective communication across the program team. The Director fosters a detail oriented, execution demeanor and enhances the overall effectiveness of the Global Edge Program team.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

+ Collaborates with the VP to develop, implement, and supervise the Global Edge Program plans through translating goals into actionable initiatives and outcomes.

+ Develops, maintains and facilitates the execution of budgets, people metrics, methods and KPI’s ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

+ Drives the preparation and facilitation of Global Edge Program executive meetings, strategic off-sites, and quarterly business reviews.

+ As a trusted advisor, synthesizes insights and provide recommendations to the VP and the other leaders in the program.

+ Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Global Edge Program. Anticipates challenges and drives positive change.

+ Is responsible for the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure organizational performance.

+ Prepares and reviews executive communications, presentations, and reports. Ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the Global Edge Program objectives.

+ Acts as a liaison for the Global Edge Program, including VP’s, operations excellence teams, collaborators, and external partners through the facilitation of effective communication and collaboration.

+ Owns and fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program by leading by example and inspiring the team.

+ Mentors and develops junior team members, promoting professional growth while also identifying high-potential talent and creating development opportunities.

+ Works as part of cross-functional teams on various pivotal initiatives through establishing and maintaining strong relationships across departments. The ability to work through challenges by influence is required in this role.

+ Ensures effective communication and information flow within the program and other relevant departments.

+ Communicates and collaborates with partners from HR, Finance, Legal and Procurement to effectively manage processes, initiatives, and updates to the broader Global Edge Program team.

+ Leads and mentors a team of professionals by fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

+ 12+ years of experience in technology and/or program operations

+ Experience influencing, inspiring, and leading impactful, diverse teams (>20) of employee and external supplier teams across multiple geographies.

+ Proven track record of driving business office activities including operating model, financial and HR processes, meetings and events, cross functional initiatives, communications and liaison activities.

+ Experience with organization effectiveness. Background in lean, six sigma, or agile a plus.

+ Experience interacting effectively with a diverse group of teams and leaders.

+ Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in technology transformation, systems administration, digital technology, engineering, computer science, or other related fields.

Preferred Skills

+ Experience with the McDonald’s business model, including intimate knowledge of our markets, market priorities, and key leaders.

+ Capability to identify gaps in technological capabilities and submit requirements to meet identified gaps.

+ Able to prepare and present accurate and timely information to other teams and leadership regarding program progress and maturity, up to and including the McDonald’s Technology Leadership Team.

+ High level of communication skills, including written deliverables, oral presentations, and the ability to facilitate crucial conversations at all levels of the organization

+ Detail oriented and solid organization skills
