Inventory Control Specialist

Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining MRO inventory levels and storerooms for assigned parts in accordance with guidelines set up by the Sr Manager Supply Chain Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Analyze database* to eliminate and prevent inventory duplication.

- Analyze database* to assign parts to defined commodity groups.

- Analyze database* and part usage history to adjust minimum and maximum stock levels, establish EOQ’s and achieve agreed upon inventory levels.

- Reviews cycle count information to determine root cause and to set and maintain inventory accuracy targets.

- Drive monthly MRO inventory audits using intra/interdepartmental resources and system generated reports.

- Resolve MRO monthly inventory audit discrepancies and update database accordingly.

- Generate and publish MRO monthly inventory audit reports including obsolete/slow moving inventory to determine disposition.

- Conduct part requisition verification against inventory database* and notify MRO Rebuyer if stock falls below the required amount.

- Responsible for adding new parts / inventory records to inventory database* including assignment of storage locations.

- Responsible for parts putaway to the storeroom upon completion of the receiving process from the MRO receiving clerk.

- Maintain organized and safe storerooms

Assists with organization of Schaumburg Storage building and necessary movements of parts to and from location.

- Conduct regular comparative analysis of database*and generate department KPI reports.

- Participate in process flow optimization and inventory control.

- Train other users on how to use ePAC for locating parts and importance of issuing parts to work orders.

- Communicate database* software issues with your Supervisor.

- Communicate violations of SOP’s to your Supervisor.

- Perform daily duties of intradepartmental personnel in case of absence or vacations.

- Resolve daily issues and perform other related duties assigned.

- Participates in sensory training and evaluation to help ensure the highest quality of our products.

- Participates on the switchboard relief team to ensure constant coverage of our reception area to continue to provide the highest in customer service.

- Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.

- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.

- Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).

- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.

- Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.

- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Education, Skills and Experience:

Education:

- High school diploma/equivalent and/or Trade school.

- Must have one (1) year of related experience and/or training with inventory control.

Skills and Experience:

- Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts.

- Ability to speak, read and write in English.

- Ability to complete training to be certified on wave picker and/or sit down Forklift.

- Ability to identify and differentiate between basic machine parts.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures manuals, recommended parts lists and drawings, and equipment manuals.

- Ability to compute numbers and apply basic statistics.

- Ability to analyze, interpret, correlate, and present data.

- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.

- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. Employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While in the plant, the employee is required to utilize the required personal protective equipment.

Organizational Structure:

Inventory Control Specialist will report directly to the Sr Manager Supply Chain Operations.

Schedule:

7:00am to 3:30pm – Rotating Days

Pay Rate:

$22-$25/hr. (Depending on the exeprience)

Pay Details: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour
