Role Summary/Purpose:

The Digital Design & Engagement Leader is responsible for creating and delivering an enterprise level Digital strategy balancing innovation and speed to market as well as accountability across multiple internal organizations. This role, which has responsibility for ~120 Agile Teams with an annual budget of ~$100MM, is crucial in driving the overall design strategy, ensuring a seamless and engaging digital experience across all platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of creative, technical, and leadership skills, and have a proven track record in managing large-scale digital projects.

Essential Responsibilities

+ Responsible for the entire life cycle management of a digital product / capability including design, planning, development, prototyping and testing

+ Translates high-level Product vision into actionable tasks and applies design thinking techniques (e.g., user stories, wireframing, prototyping) in order to define product features

+ Partner with the development teams and the business for idea intake, bi-weekly Steering Committees, PI Prioritization, PI Planning and QRR reviews

+ Uses team scrum/agile development techniques (continuous delivery, field trials) and tools for team collaboration, product testing, issue tracking and backlog management

+ Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of digital product owners, Train leaders, UX/UI designers, and other professionals

+ Partners with IT on project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, people management, and budgeting

+ Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost

+ Monitors delivery performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions

+ Facilitates user-friendly designs that emphasize translating user processes into straightforward user interfaces (UI) and navigation flows

+ Stays informed on technology and research on customer preferences, identifying opportunities to apply new technologies to enhance the digital experience

+ Manage the digital design budget, including resource prioritization / allocation through use of detailed Addressable Opportunity analysis to measure and report actual vs. projected benefits of Agile team quarterly investments

+ In partnership with Tech & Ops, lead Annual Planning process for Digital channels inclusive of budget and FTE at the SI, team, functional and channel levels

+ Support existing and prospective client presentations, demos and other activities as required

Key Skills/Attributes Needed:

+ Ability to define and deliver an enterprise level Digital strategy inclusive of external (B2B and B2B2C) and internal customers

+ Passion for identifying, designing and building ‘delighting and innovative’ experiences with unyielding focus to improve the customer journey

+ Expertise in Web, Mobile and Native technologies and ability to partner with the Product, Technology, Operations and Credit teams to optimize execution across 12+ global Agile teams

+ Expertise in Portfolio / Scaled Agile practices with ability to build culture that balances innovation and speed to market with accountability and risk management

+ Strong CTC / regulatory knowledge to build and operate strong governance processes in partnership with the OCC, FRB, Audit and Risk Testing organizations

+ Decisive, candid, humble and adaptable people leadership skills that empowers teams to be courageous and deliver under constrained timelines with a high tolerance for ambiguity

+ Presentation skills … … ability to present to an Executive level audience, up to a Board of Directors level

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree or, in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 20+ years’ work experience in Marketing, Strategy or Design within Financial Services

+ 15+ years of experience in digital design, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

+ 5+ years Leadership experience in large Matrix Organizations with strong regulatory oversight

+ Strong influencing experience and capability of CEO and C-Level Officers of Large Publicly traded organizations

+ Proven track record of leading successful digital design projects for large-scale enterprises in a Scaled Agile environment

+ Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Grade/Level: 17

The salary range for this position is 240,000 – 410,000 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 40% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 40% of salary.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

+ You must be 18 years or older

+ You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

+ You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

+ You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

+ New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
