Job Description

Beacon Hill has partnered with a highly reputable association to find a multifaceted Associate Director of Member Engagement to join their team. This person will lead a small team and be responsible for membership strategy and engagement. The organization values work life balance and is onsite 2 days a week downtown.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute membership strategy aligned with the Strategic Plan.
  • Develop new member programs, services, and benefits in collaboration with surgeon leaders and stakeholders, with focus on early career surgeons.
  • Use member research insights to innovate and enhance member value and recruitment efforts.
  • Utilize business intelligence and data analytics to optimize member experience and streamline membership operations.
  • Serve as staff liaison to Council on Member Engagement; oversee support of Council's Workforces and Task Forces.
  • Collaborate with related associations on early career engagement initiatives.
  • Supervise Membership Department staff; manage department budget.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications Department on membership recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Ensure STS Bylaws align with current membership trends and Strategic Plan.
  • Oversee customer service channels, ensuring timely member support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in member or affiliate services, ideally in a professional association. Experience in member engagement strategy development and team management required; healthcare background preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership ability with strategic insight and hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Expertise in member surveys, with ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues, volunteer leaders, and external partners.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability.
