Position Highlights:
Position:Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Linden Oaks Hospital - Naperville
Part Time: - 20 hours
Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 8am-12pm

What you will need:
A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested. Required And

Preferred:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum one year of previous facilities/engineering experience

A Brief Overview:

According to established procedures installs, repairs or performs routine, preventative maintenance on a variety of plumbing or mechanical equipment. Performs a variety of routine building repair tasks to include hanging doors, installing locks, changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, and other general service requests.

What you will do:

Performs routine repair and maintenance on patient furniture, plumbing, plumbing fixtures, affixes inspection sticker and signs, documents all work according to Hospital standards. Performs routine maintenance such as cleaning, greasing and oiling equipment, changing filters and other replaceable parts as necessary.
Inspects building and reports the need of repair to walls, floor coverings, door closures and other deficiencies. Notifies the Supervisor and/orEngineer II of any discrepancies noted during the shift.
Documents results of preventative maintenance in established logs and alerts Supervisor of equipment repair needs.
Repairs and maintains non-clinical electronic components such as television remote control, nurse call system and med-gas system. Assists in repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment by disassembling equipment, repairing or replacing defective parts, and reassembling and testing equipment performance as directed.
Performs routine plumbing work such as unplugging toilets, sinks and drain lines, and repairing and/or replacing faucets, shower heads and the like.
Performs miscellaneous minor building repairs including changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling and floor tiles, patching walls and so forth.
Maintains all hand tools, power tools and equipment according to department standards. Cleans and stores tools the end of shift. Performs basic repair when necessary and applies preventative maintenance sticker with signature
Repairs and maintains all rolling stock including, but not limited to, beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc.
Maintains work area in a clean and neat manner prior to the end of each shift worked.
Completes and returns all work orders on the shift worked according to department procedures.
Maintains log of activities including work performed, supplies and equipment used, time spent on each project.
Responds to code calls as appropriate.
