Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Cook County Interstate Compact Manager. Under administrative direction, this position will manage, review, and evaluate the Cook County portion of the statewide Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children Program. The position will provide consultation to Department staff, public and private agencies, court personnel, and attorneys to resolve problems and facilitate placements. The position will also monitor to ensure that legal and jurisdictional requirements are maintained and will develop and execute placement agreements and contracts. This position will review and evaluate home assessments to ensure that all relevant issues are addressed and will review new referrals and progress reports. Job Responsibilities1). Serves as Cook County Interstate Compact Manager.
2). Plans, develops, and executes placement agreements and contracts.
3). Reviews and evaluates home assessments to ensure that all relevant issues are addressed.
4.) Reviews new referrals and progress reports and associated materials, identifying and addressing problematic issues.
5.) Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably with the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1.) Requires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
2.) Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW or four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field.
Preferred Qualifications1.) 3 years of professional experience managing a social work program.
2.) 3 years of professional experience developing and implementing social work policies and procedures in a public or private organization.
3.) 3 years of professional experience working in a permanency field.
4.) 3 years of professional experience reviewing and evaluating program services.
5.) 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or private organization.
