Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Agency Technology Service Request Manager. Under administrative direction, this position will coordinate and serve as liaison with the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) and external vendors regarding system issues and service requests. The position will provide professional and technical advisory functions to the division and the Product Manager relative to IT services, acting as the division’s expert in the IT field. The position will also develop programs and manage the implementation of programs for operational computer and data needs for the division, while advising the Product Manager and Deputy Director of issues and the status of projects. Additionally, this position will manage the procurement of division hardware, software, and professional services in collaboration with the DCFS Division of Budget and Finance. Job Responsibilities

1. Serves as Agency Technology Service Request Manager for the Office of Employee Services.

2. Develops programs and manages the implementation of programs for operational computer and data needs for the division.

3. Manages the procurement of division hardware, software, and professional services in collaboration with the DCFS Division of Budget and Finance.

4. Coordinates service response from DoIT and external vendors.

5. Coordinates and monitors the implementation of systems and data integrations.

6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with a specialization in computer science. 
2. Requires three years of progressively responsible professional experience in computer operations. 

Preferred Qualifications

1. 3 years of professional experience providing technical advisory functions in the information technology area of a public or business organization.
2. 3 years of professional experience conducting program planning activities in the information technology area of a public or business organization.
3. 3 years of professional experience managing the procurement of IT hardware, software, and/or professional services in a public or business organization.
4. 3 years of professional experience in the development of strategies for the improvement of program services in a public or business organization.
5. 3 years of professional experience serving in a liaison capacity for a public or business organization.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires the ability to pass a background check.
2. Requires possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
