Role Summary:

The Consultant Relations team is responsible for establishing and cultivating partnerships with institutional investment consulting firms. Coverage spans from global consulting firms to regional focused firms throughout the US. Efforts focused on building credibility and securing formal strategy ratings across asset management capabilities including 50 South Capital. Requires collaboration with internal partners focused on distribution and servicing efforts across client segments. The Consultant Relations team focuses a large percentage of their time raising visibility of our firm and capabilities amongst field consultant that advise institutional clients.

Given the nature of the Consultant Relations effort, the Associate will get exposure to a mixture of Distribution, Client Service, and Investment-related activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with prospective clients and consultants to gain in-depth understanding of client servicing needs and opportunities.
  • Formulate, coordinate and implement plans and solutions in conjunction with internal and external partners.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for complex prospect or partner inquiries for Asset Management products and services.
  • Respond to inquiries by providing the requested information/analysis or referring the inquiry to the appropriate partners for resolution. Keep abreast of new and existing investment products and services.
  • Research and compile competitive information.
  • Assist the Sales Team with the tracking and development of sales opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations for meetings primarily focused on deepening partnerships with consultants .
  • Provide oversight of the RFP/RFI process.
  • Recommend enhancements to management for changes in processes, products, or services based on inquiries received and the client's experience.
  • Ensures overall satisfaction by facilitating efforts of service team,
    coordinating resources to ensure timely delivery and issue-resolution,
    and effectively communicating concerns/needs to partners.



Knowledge and Skills to be Gained:

  • Development of a broad understanding of asset management services and an in-depth knowledge of the complexities the Institutional Consultant segment.
  • Direct exposure to Consultant Relations Directors, a view into differing engagement approaches across consultants, understanding of how different investment consulting firms are structure, and where this is alignment across NTAM investment capabilities.
  • Exposure to Client Portfolio Managers across asset classes to build knowledge of NTAM capabilities and differentiators in the market place.
  • Market knowledge of asset management competitors and key trends.
  • Hands on research, problem solving, and analytical projects with opportunities to present findings to team members, including members of leadership.
