This role will support the U.S. market and as such candidates will be expected to travel approximately 25% of the time. At Morningstar we follow a hybrid policy which entails of a minimum of three days onsite at our global headquarters office in Chicago.
About the Role:
Serve as the proactive voice of Morningstar Data in external forums, both in person (client meetings, industry organizations, conferences, etc.) and via media channels (social media, LinkedIn, B2B, etc.)
Partner with marketing to create and maintain data sales enablement and training collateral in a central repository.
Regularly share market trends and industry feedback (via industry landscape reports) with our teams in connection with current objectives and key results.
Serve as an end-to-end expert in the data supported by the Data & Analytics team within Morningstar, from how we acquire the data through to what products the data appears in, how the data is used by our top client segments, who our competitors are, and how clients (existing or potential) view our offering versus that of our competitors.
Serve as the voice of the industry for internal projects that seek to expand and/or improve our current data offering. Conduct competitive analysis and industry research on what's world class. Utilize this analysis to identify gaps in our current offering. Serve as a priority filter of data expansion/improvement ideas, define the business requirements, and work with products on submitting the business case for sizing and scheduling within the Data and Analytics organization.
Serve as a dedicated team member on time-bound data and analytics sales campaigns.
Be a power user of Morningstar data in designated products. Identify where data visualization or workflows are not optimized and partner with products to make workflow enhancements.
About you:
7+ years of financial services experience, with a background in data management, portfolio construction, or investment research.
Highly effective communicator with experience teaching complex topics to a diverse audience with varying experience.
Collaborative, client-centric and solution-centric mindset with a demonstrated ability to build trust and relationships, both internally and externally.
Adept at successfully promoting content and creating engagement utilizing media channels, such as LinkedIn.
Experience in conducting competitor analysis and translating business needs into functional requirements that will meet the needs of our clients.
