Head of Sales North America - Foodology:
This role leads the North American Nutrition Sales organization and has accountability for increasing market share and delivering profitable growth through the creation and execution of customer and supplier specific growth strategies. The North American Senior SM develops and oversees a high-performance team and culture, driven by strong sales processes measured by key performance indicators leading to consistent growth across all suppliers, sales territories, and sales professionals in terms of volume, revenue, and margin. In addition, this role drives the product/supplier strategy including line card offerings and pricing in support of the overall business strategy.

What You'll Do:
Achieve in-year financial goals for the NA Nutrition Sales organization, including sustainable, profitable growth and market share gains through a culture of accountability, performance, and commitment to a pipeline driven sales growth process.
Drive data-based analyses and support the development of territory, regional, and NA strategies to differentially target customers and segments, reduce churn, increase share of wallet, and increase opportunity pipeline flow through. Actively nurture key supplier relationships
Partner with NA Senior Nutrition Product Management Team and help drive product strategy to include the addition of new suppliers and growth with existing suppliers.
Build and maintain trusted partnerships with key customers in the NA Nutrition market; build rapport, learn customers* organization and people, responsibility lines, products, financial situation, opportunities, requirements, culture, methods of doing business, etc. Make individual and joint sales calls as needed to support the team.
Build the highest performing, most engaged team in the NA Nutrition market. Hire and develop talent, coach objectively for performance and skill development, provide candid feedback, and ensure the right people are in the right roles for business success

What You'll Need:
Bachelors degree in business, science, or a technical field. MBA preferred.
10+ years' of relevant industry experience in technical sales, sales leadership, and running a business is needed. This includes proven specialty sales leadership
Getting results through clear articulation of goals, execution on key behaviors in the sales process, and accountability. Distribution experience strongly desired.
Demonstrated ability to develop market expertise and credibility in the Nutrition industry segment, including customers, suppliers, products, applications, technology, pricing, value; industry or market problems and opportunities.
Demonstrated people/team leadership experience with proven ability to motivate, engage, and develop a hard-working team. Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback to overcome performance gaps.
Experience and sound knowledge of using PC and Windows OS, database experience preferred with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
Business/Strategic Orientation:
Must demonstrate critical thinking and ability to understand implications of decisions
High business insight and analytical skills with capability to drive a P&L, as well as key cash flow decisions and performance. This includes an ability to think in terms of the Univar Solutions enterprise and drive actions which are beneficial to the business as a whole.
Negotiation Skills:
Must possess ability to establish strong working relationships and persuade/influence others
Ability to negotiate and defend pricing, contracts, and agreements with suppliers and customers in a mutually beneficial manner while maintaining professionalism and achieving goals.
Ability to work across functions and boundaries to influence and find mutually beneficial outcomes for the business
Anticipates sensitive issues and adjusts accordingly.
