Job Summary

1st Line Commercial Risk function is charged with the design and execution of a comprehensive roadmap to own and manage risk, elevate the risk management culture and support sound profitable growth for Commercial Bank comprising Lending, Servicing & Onboarding and Payments.

The team is responsible for risk management across Key's footprint for the Commercial Bank, targeting clients and prospects with annual revenue size of $10M - $1B. In addition, it is also responsible for risk management of Key's commercial payment offerings including Treasury Services, Commercial Card, International Trade and FX, Merchant Services and Payments Fintech partnerships. Key Bank is also expanding its embedded banking offering and reshaping how payment products are delivered to its clients and their counterparties. The goal is to be at the forefront of innovation through the intersection of technology and banking to improve client experience, enhance offerings, and streamline delivery.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Risk, the Senior Leader, Commercial Product Risk Management is a senior, strategic and highly visible role responsible for establishing a sound product risk framework; providing thought, relationship and results leadership; serving as the primary product risk point of contact for Commercial Bank Business Development and Product teams, enabling sound, profitable growth through new and/or enhanced decision-making frameworks, new product design, approval and launch, documented processes, procedures, controls and workflows. The position requires strong collaboration with a diverse set of internal and external partners and building influence with senior stakeholders across Key. Requires focus on people & talent management - build the team, attracting, nurturing and retaining talent at all levels of the org that believe in our vision and culture.

Responsibilities

Continue Maturing Commercial Product Risk
Provide risk expertise to deliver the Product Roadmap and drive ongoing due diligence and monitoring across all products
Scale and proactively manage risk acrossEmbedded Banking
Enable VAM Launch and DACA Automation; Provide risk support to deliver the Product Roadmap Product/Client Portfolio Monitoring; Risk automation; Underwriting
Develop a seamless alignment between product, 1st LOD, BRC and 2nd LOD to drive scorecard metrics and product development milestones
Continue to focus on product/domain expertise on product risk team; Support the right outcomes on Fraud Risk
Evolve and drive accountability on end-to-end risk processes, procedures, controls, tools/dashboards and KRIs/KPIs
Create alignment across partners, technology, and tools to ensure cohesive approach to risk management practices

Elevate Risk Management Capabilities to Own and Manage Risk
Proactive management of all regulatory exams/risk reviews and expectations
Drive effective risk MCE ratings by deepening risk behaviors and ownership
Calibrate and contribute to existing established risk forums, processes, and reviews
Create comprehensive reporting around existing Compliance, Credit, and Operational Risk to create centralized view
Oversight and timely completion of all Findings, TPM, and NPD activities

Advance Risk Roadmap and Risk Culture
1st line Risk Team coverage and engagement model to support expanded business
Disciplined and timely execution of Risk Roadmap
Calibrate and deepen risk expertise in addition to delegated authority from risk partners
Path To Yes Decisioning Framework/defining our 1LOD risk appetite and buy boxes more broadly and 1LOD point of view on risk-return
Ongoing reinforcement of a proactive risk culture through training and tools

Manage Client Risk Comprehensively
Support deposit strategy and primacy initiatives through risk
Expansion of High-Risk Portfolio Monitoring and Management
Develop robust risk insights and scorecards to drive preemptive risk mitigation
Design and execute client/product portfolio monitoring and management

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management required
Master's degree in business, Legal, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management preferred
APRP Risk certification desirable

Experience Qualifications

10-15 years of banking/financial services industry experience
7-10 years of risk management/payments experience
Executive presence, ability to build and leverage relationships and influence without direct authority
