Job Description

EMPLOYEE'S MUST RESIDE WITHIN THE CITY OF PEORIA

DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS
LOCATION: 3505 DRIES LANE, PEORIA, ILLINOIS
HOURS: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Monday through Friday

The purpose of this position is to assist with the development of workflow process for all departmental tasks to evaluate the process and improve efficiency and productivity of asset management.

 Examples of Duties
Workflow Coordination:
*Assists in the development of workflow processes for all departmental tasks related to asset management
*Evaluates existing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
*Conducts needs assessments in collaboration with management staff to determine requirements for achieving departmental asset infrastructure and maintenance management goals
*Utilizes asset management software integrated with the GIS system to track current conditions of various assets within the Public Right-of-way (e.g., roadways, lights, signals, sidewalks, storm sewers)
*Establishes and maintains documentation on asset infrastructure and maintenance management goals
*Manages work orders and system configuration, ensuring data collection aligns with regulatory reporting requirements and departmental objectives
Creates a framework for capturing work order data within the system
Trains staff on the use of the asset management system
Analysis and Reporting:
Compiles, reviews, and analyzes data related to infrastructure asset management using the City's asset management software
applications
Prepares reports and develops presentation materials outlining optimal solutions for infrastructure asset management
Ensures that tasks are predefined to organize the workflow of maintenance activities, resource utilization, and infrastructure maintenance requirements
Generates reports that will be used to develop performance measures for the department

Public Works Support:
Maintains and creates authoritative GIS data layers, maps and applications for use by Public Works staff and the general public
Fulfills requests from Public Works staff for various needs, including field data collection, project-specific maps, and data updates
Collaborates with Public Works staff to develop public communication tools for projects, Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget, and other communication requirements

Data maintenance and updating:
Performs daily updates of GIS asset data, including address changes, updates to mowing areas, tree locations, and banner layers
Assists public works staff in creating field maps or other tools for data collection and recording completed work while in the field
 Minimum Qualifications
