UI Health is seeking an Radiologic Technologist Specialist-Cath Lab/EP to join our Cardiovascular Diagnostic Services team. This role will be responsible for a delegated area of authority (such as a section within an interventional procedural department) and/or perform complex or specialized procedures involving the acquisition, processing, and evaluation of medical radiographic images. They may supervise and direct the activities of staff, students, and auxiliary personnel of various sections. They work under the direction from higher level personnel

Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversees staff radiographers and organizes work within the general diagnostic sections of the department as requested.
Assists in the performance of complex diagnostic and special radiographic exams, including fluoroscopy when necessary.
Uses two patient identifiers to identify patients as required by hospital policy before starting any exam or procedure.
Operates all diagnostic medical imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, IVUS/OCT, iFR, DFR, RFR, and FFR systems.
Works with sterile equipment and maintains a sterile field.
Maintains and updates technical protocol manuals.
Assists with the coordination of continuing education to meet the requirements set forth by IEMA, TJC and ARRT Maintains cleanliness and order within the department following the guidelines of TJC, IDPH and the Infection Control department at the medical center.
Participates in emergency drills and responds to disaster requests.
Participates in orientation and documentation for new staff and annual competencies for existing staff.
Participates in the development of policies for the Quality Control Program. Attends departmental meetings and/or seminars as needed.
Assists in the creation and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
Assists with interviews and evaluations of medical radiography staff.
Participates in disciplinary action for technical employees within the General Diagnostic section of the department.
Inputs and retrieves information from designated computer systems within the department and institution.
Participates in the evaluation and selection of new equipment and supplies.
Provide On-Call coverage as needed.
Acts as charge tech when needed.
Perform the functions of lower-level technologists as needed.
Performs other duties as necessary for the work described.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
