CareerBuilder, LLC has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 in Chicago, IL. Design, test and develop new code. Contribute to the direction and scope of individual project iterations. Optimize project iterations and problem scopes to provide high quality feedback while delivering value to customers in a timely manner. Scope and plan project iterations with leaders and project teammates. Proactively communicate the overall iteration and project status to leaders, teammates and product owners. Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure successful on-time completion. Research and prototype new technologies and tools. Effectively communicate with other development teams. Demonstrate our development philosophy on a daily basis. Spread our values and practices to other developers with less experience. Identify technical areas for improvement in existing infrastructure. Implement and maintain framework services using the latest Open Source technologies with a focus on establishing standards and frameworks to be consumed by CareerBuilder applications. Services include: Authentication, Authorization, API Routing, GDPR, OFAC, CCPS Compliance, and Fraud Detection. Work with industry-standard technologies including Go, Docker, Amazon Web Services, GitHub, oAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML 2.0. Monitor mission critical services and respond to any errors or exceptions that occur both during and after business hours. Position reports to CareerBuilder LLC headquarters at 200 N La Salle Dr, Chicago, IL 60601. Telecommuting permitted 100% of the time if residing in one of the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MO, MN, MS, NE, NV, NJ, NC, NH, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV.

 

Job Requirements

 

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, and 4 years of experience building applications using web and open source technologies or related.

 

Also, must have work experience in:

 

  • Problem solving skills in a distributed systems environment;
  • Guiding, mentoring and teaching junior developers;
  • Developing scalable applications;
  • C#, HTML, jQuery, JSON, RESTful APIs, Ruby, and Python;
  • Developing RESTful APIs using .Net Web API Technology;
  • Creating Responsive User Interfaces;
  • Object Oriented Design and Development, and Design Patterns; and
  • Relational database concepts.
