Job Summary:
This position conducts research by assisting with the collection, entry and cleaning of data and descriptive results.
The main purpose of this position is to collect, interpret, analyze, and enter data according to established research protocol on subjects, who are youth in care of the state of Illinois, in need of psychopharmacological intervention. The research results help to provide improved future clinical care, oversight, and influence policy. In addition, create and maintain professional relationships through effective communication with prescribing clinicians, mental healthcare, and social service professionals while providing education on up-to-date research based psychopharmacological practices to promote safe, effective, and best practice standards for the use of psychopharmacology in our subjects.
Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
Research:
Performs surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols. Collect, process, and analyze data. Summarize research and test results. May assist with study protocol development. Coordinate the ordering, inventory and maintenance of equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.
Communication:
Prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants, and other documents. Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Best Candidate:
Obtain, enter, clean, and analyze medical and psychiatric subject data from medical records submitted by the field [healthcare providers, case workers, Department of Children and Family Services authorized agents, foster parents, etc.] relating to the use of psychotropic medication.
Maintain exemplary oral and written communication skills utilized in acquiring and reporting data.
Autonomously use professional judgment and discretion needed when gathering complex information on each subject.
Follow protocol to communicate updates to healthcare providers on changes in procedure related to research findings.
Contribute to research which helps to provide improved future clinical care, oversight, and influence policy.
As new research findings become available, develop and implement procedures and policies to positively impact the future of clinical care.
When concerning trends are identified, notify research supervisors and/or the Principal Investigator to develop and implement proper guidelines to promote quality assurance.
Assess quality assurance to ensure best practice standards and recommendations of research findings are being upheld.
Perform literature reviews, attend educational forums, and collaborate with Research teams including Registered Nurses and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists regarding research findings.
