As Strategic Planning Manager in Payments’ Acquiring Platform & Rails, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

The Vice President of Strategic Planning will be a key leader in shaping and delivering the global strategic roadmap for our payments platform across key segments including e-Commerce, Omnichannel, Small Business, and Embedded Payments & Services. The successful candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, passion for improving technology solutions, and an ability to own and deliver on full workstreams. Tasked with driving the process for evaluating and prioritizing newly proposed payments capabilities, they will use strong executive presence, business acumen, and analytical skills to identify and communicate key insights to executive leadership.

Job responsibilities

+ Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers

+ Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap

+ Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition

+ Builds the framework and tracks the product’s key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability

+ Leverages strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to drive decision-making processes both independently and in collaboration with executive leaders

+ Analyze disparate data and structures it within tools that facilitate repeated usage by executive leadership, providing key insights for decision-making within meetings

+ Builds compelling PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate program strategy, key decisions, and associated rationale to diverse stakeholders

+ Builds process documentation with detailed steps, preparation requirements, and timelines for every step of the strategic planning process

+ Works across multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating effective project management skills and prioritization instincts

+ Fosters a team-oriented mindset, leading within the team and collaborating with colleagues across the business to achieve shared goals

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area

+ Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics

+ Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management

+ 5+ years of experience and demonstrated success in a combination of Strategy, Product Management, or Consulting, with demonstrated understanding of strategy best practices

+ Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills with the ability to design, build and deliver compelling presentations that effectively communicate complex business strategies to executive leaders

+ Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build and manage models that source from a range of sources and can be easily adapted and maintained

+ Humble mindset, with a willingness to do whatever work is necessary for the success of the team and the broader organization

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet ambitious strategic goals

+ Demonstrated ability to engage and lead discussions with senior-level stakeholders

+ Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, leading and fostering cooperation and contributing to shared goals

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization

+ Experience with technology, product, or financial companies/roles

+ Graduate degree in business or finance
