Power BI Data Analyst and Developer

HomeSafe Alliance is the single global household goods movement manager of over 300,000 Military Household Goods moves per year for USTRANSCOM and the U.S. Armed Forces, Department of Defense civilians, U.S. Coast Guard, and their families.

HomeSafe Alliance is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer and Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. At HomeSafe, you’ll leverage your knowledge of systems, business processes, regulatory requirements, and statistical expertise to develop new datasets, oversee data quality processes, and perform exploratory analysis to uncover new insights.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports that support our data analytics initiatives. You will transform complex datasets into understandable and insightful visualizations, aiding decision-making processes across various departments. Your strong analytical skills and keen eye for detail will ensure that outputs are accurate and adhere to user experience principles for visual and nomenclature consistency.

You will collaborate closely with business units to understand their data needs and execute data-driven initiatives. By fostering data awareness and literacy within the organization, you will help colleagues effectively utilize data in their roles. This position requires a solid foundation in data analytics, along with an understanding of data science, data engineering, and data modeling.

The Data Analyst and Developer plays a key role in our quest for data-driven decision making to improve our products and the customer experience while driving operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities ::

+ Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.

+ Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, translating them into effective data visualization solutions.

+ Utilize statistical methods to perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies.

+ Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into PowerBI.

+ Work closely with DBAs, data engineers, security, and other Information Technology personnel to achieve objectives according to standards and governance.

+ Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all outputs working as a team.

+ Create and maintain documentation for developed dashboards, reports, and data models.

+ Monitor key performance indicator KPI metrics regularly and provide timely updates to stakeholders, highlighting areas of improvement and optimization opportunities.

+ Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the effective use of the PowerBI tools.

+ Stay updated with the latest PowerBI features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve reporting capabilities.

Qualification and Skill Requirements :

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data analytics or data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field; (Master’s degree preferred).

+ Proven 2-4 years’ experience in data analysis, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.

+ Analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing data analytics PowerBI reports.

+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations. Keen eye for detail and accuracy.

+ Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.

+ Proficient with PowerBI data visualization tool, including Power Query, Data Analysis Expression (DAX), and PowerBI Service.

+ Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

+ Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and interpretation.

+ Providing support to teammates and management team as required.

+ Ability to work independently, work multiple priorities, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

+ Knowledge of Agile practices.

+ Optional, preferred skills in Python or R; AWS/Google Cloud/Azure; familiarity with Power Automate, UIPath, or related toolsets
