Job Purpose

The Security Engineer II is responsible for ensuring the implementation, configuration, support, and use of the organization’s security tools. This position will work on various projects, maintain implementations, and meet deliverables for the organization. The Security Engineer II will also conduct periodic architecture reviews, evaluations, and testing of internal/cloud solutions for impacts to the existing security posture and recommend enhancements to the organization’s security.

Essential Responsibilities

+ Ensures the implementation, configuration, support, and use of security monitoring and reporting tools and software.

+ Assists in managing the Information Security infrastructure including configuration, maintenance, and installation of Information Security applications and hardware.

+ Monitors controls, investigates and resolves security concerns as needed.

+ Helps develop policies and procedures to enhance the security posture of the organization.

+ Designs, develops, deploys and maintains information security systems and applications to advance the Information Security Program.

+ Helps identify security risks and exposures and recommends solutions.

+ Evaluates security configuration of new applications.

+ Interfaces with multiple business units to determine and meet security reporting requirements.

+ Provides after hours on-call assistance as needed.

+ Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Prior experience working in a major cloud environment, Azure preferred.

+ Prior experience programming with Python or PowerShell preferred.

+ Administrative level knowledge of multiple operating systems.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Strong knowledge of internet, encryption, and network protocols and vulnerabilities.

+ Experience with risk assessment procedures, authorization methodologies, authentication and monitoring technologies, vulnerability assessments, and penetration techniques.

+ Thorough understanding of security concepts, protocols, and methodologies across multiple operating environments.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience required.

+ 7+ years Information Technology experience required.

+ 4+ years Information Security specific experience required.

+ CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional or GSE certifications preferred.
