About the Role

MES Technician

This position reports directly to the IT Department Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Magna Exteriors Belvidere

Your Responsibilities

+ Configure and deploy MES software systems to support manufacturing operations.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design system solutions.

+ Implement and maintain MES functionality, including master data, routing, and work instructions.

+ Customize MES reports and dashboards to meet business needs.

+ Provide training and technical support to end-users on MES functionality and troubleshooting.

+ Monitor and analyze MES performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

+ Collaborate with IT team to integrate MES with other enterprise systems, such as ERP.

+ Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in MES technology.

+ Work with the System Administrators and Network Engineer to design and deploy a robust architecture that will facilitate growth of new applications being developed and deployed.

+ Writing DB documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions

+ Controlling access permissions and privileges.

+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes.

+ Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications to fit business needs.

+ Maintaining data standards.

+ Visibly leads and supports all MEB goals as set forth in objectives and targets.

+ Performs all job functions in a safe, healthful and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook

Who we are looking for

+ Ability to work flexible hours/ On call rotation support including weekends.

+ Good knowledge of MES and Automation in Manufacturing industry

+ Problem-solving skills

+ Excellent understanding of Database systems

+ Ability to prioritize.

+ Manufacturing experience, high paced environment

+ Knowledge of Office, MsProject

+ Hands-on experience with MES Platform

+ Microsoft SQL Server basic knowledge

+ Experience with TCP/IP networks, bar code printers and scanners, RF data collection devices.

+ Exceptional organizational and communication skills

Your preferred qualifications

+ Required: 5+ years of experience with associate or bachelor’s Degree that relates to IT or factory Automation

+ Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

+ Microsoft Certified Database Administrator a plus
