Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably, and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible to manage the daily flight operations of United Airlines. Direct the Network Operations Control team for the purpose of executing daily flight schedule in compliance with regulatory, company requirements and company operational objectives. Manage information flow describing all operational elements to appropriate bodies of the airline and outside constituencies. Develop daily operating strategy, execute to that strategy and analysis effectiveness for continuous improvement. Strong dependencies with all operating groups within United.

+ Single POC for senior leadership across the organization and the NOC

+ Develop and execute daily operational plans and lead through normal and irregular operations.

+ Responsible for delay and cancellation strategies with the interest of safety, customer impact, schedule reliability and profit optimization

+ Key NOC communicator for the daily operation, via scheduled and ad-hoc calls, emails, Network alerts and other communication tools

+ Maintains oversight of all operating functions within the NOC, to ensure the operational integrity. Inserts themselves in operational challenges to provide leadership and guidance.

+ Training, support, and guidance of the OM group

+ Establishes policies and provides feedback.

+ Recommends or establishes cross-divisional policies, procedures within the NOC.

+ Provides operationally relevant feedback to events encountered, during NOC After Action Reviews, supports the implementation of any actions taken because of these reviews.

+ Monitors staffing plans for the key critical roles within the NOC and engages with the scheduling team to help provide the support and coverage needed.

+ As part of the key, 24 hour/day leader on the NOC floor, oversee the safety and wellbeing of the NOC staff.

+ Escalates and engages with all groups to ensure that safety is maintained.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

+ BS in Aviation Management or relevant work experience (7+ years airline operations experience with a minimum 3 years in a leadership capacity)

+ Minimum of 4 years in airline operations

+ Federal Regulations, ATC operations

+ High level skill of MS Tools, including PPT, TEAMS

+ Solid understanding of NOC tools and functions, to include planning, routing, Weather and ATC, scheduling, etc.

+ Strong communication skills, fast learner, and ability to provide direction across multiple work groups.

+ A motivator and a leader

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.

+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

+ MBA, BS Aviation Management (or 6-8 years of airline operations and leadership experience)

+ FAA Airman Certificate, Dispatch, ATP, A&P
