The Team

Deloitte Tax LLP’s Tax Transformation Office (TTO) is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of innovative, enterprise technology, tools, and standard processes to support the delivery of tax services. The TTO team focuses on enhancing Deloitte Tax LLP’s ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient tax services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical, technology development, change management, Six Sigma, and project management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.

Work you’ll do

We are looking for a Software Engineer to lead our teams in building enterprise level web-based applications that excite our customers. You will be responsible to design, develop and maintain data systems and processes that support our business applications.

Additional Responsibilities include:

+ Design and maintain data models, data types, data integrations and data classifications that align with business requirements.

+ Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities, evaluate feasibility of requirements, determine priorities, and come up with application architecture options and a technical roadmap.

+ Guide development teams on architecture and high-level designs. Make high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms. Evaluate different suitable technology options and if applicable existing solutions. Provide leadership to make prudent choices.

+ Support and coach your team on best coding practices, development tools, and pathfinding and surveys for technologies.

+ Consistently strive to acquire new skills on Microsoft Technologies, especially .NET Core, Azure Cloud, DevOps, Big Data, AI and ML technologies. Think towards creating container-based applications (Kubernetes, Docker), strive for full automated solutions.

+ Hands-on support for development team in the implementation of complex business logic and algorithms.

+ Encourage collaborative efforts and camaraderie with on-shore and off-shore team members.

Qualifications

Required

+ Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week

+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.

+ 5+ years of experience with designing enterprise-scale resilient and scalable solutions, using microservice architecture.

+ 5+ years of architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of .NET tehcnologies and platforms.

+ Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

+ One of the following active accreditations obtained:

+ Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA

+ If not CPA eligible:

Preferred

+ Solid understanding and hand-on data structures, Object Oriented Concepts, and microservices.

+ Experience with developing Technology Roadmaps for an eco-system of inter-connected applications, and aligning the technology with the business strategy.

+ Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, ability to communicate clearly with business stakeholders.

+ Experience with managing technology initiatives and with Agile Development Methodology.

+ Experience with developing Architecture and Software Development Standards and Processes.

+ Taking on a hands-on role to support other program areas to document technical requirements, facilitating process flow design, leading calls with risk communities to deliver program objectives as necessary and under the guidance of the program lead.

+ Hands-on experience working with deployment and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes.

+ Knowledge on Angular, MongoDB, Redis.

+ Ability to understand abstract requirements and identify right technologies for building prototypes.

+ Solid experience in SDLC practices.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $108,430 to $246,870.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
